Linen Geometric Print Storage Basket — Soft Living Collection
"A storage basket is usually an afterthought — something you hide in a closet. This one is different. Navy diamonds climb the linen. A cream cross sits at the heart of every diamond. Leather handles and brass rivets finish the corners. It is not something to hide. It is something to display — a pattern with purpose, holding your things beautifully."
— The FrissGonv Workshop
Navy diamonds on linen,
finished in leather and brass.
This basket began as a flat panel of high-density European linen — woven tight enough to hold its shape, soft enough to feel alive in your hands. The pattern is printed by hand, not by machine: each navy diamond is pressed onto the fabric with a wooden block, one at a time, so no two diamonds are exactly alike. The edges have a slight softness, a hand-stamped character that a machine could never replicate. It is the difference between a print and a pattern — between something mass-produced and something made.
At the center of every diamond, a small cream cross is embroidered — four delicate stitches, perfectly aligned, adding a layer of texture that the print alone could never achieve. The embroidery catches the light differently from the printed linen, so the pattern seems to shift as you move around the basket. It is a small detail, but it is the kind of detail that separates a piece of decor from a piece of craft.
The rim is finished with a navy binding — stitched tight, with a clean edge that frames the opening like the border of a painting. Two supple brown leather handles are attached to the sides, each secured with two solid brass rivets that glow with a warm, antique finish. The four bottom corners are reinforced with matching leather caps — also riveted in brass — protecting the linen from wear and giving the basket a structured, tailored silhouette. It is the same construction you would find on a high-end leather goods piece, translated into linen for the home.
At home in a living room holding magazines and remotes. In an entryway holding gloves and scarves. In a bathroom holding towels and toiletries. In a closet holding hats and belts. Wherever it lives, it does the same thing: it holds your things with pattern and purpose, and it looks good doing it.
Seven Stages to Pattern
From a flat panel of linen to a basket with pattern and purpose.
Linen Selection
High-density European linen is selected for its tight weave and natural slub texture. Only cream-colored fabric with consistent fiber distribution is used — the weave must be tight enough to hold a structured shape, soft enough to feel natural.
Hand Block Printing
Navy diamond patterns are hand-stamped onto the linen panel using wooden blocks. Each diamond is pressed individually, so no two are exactly alike — the edges have a slight softness, a hand-stamped character that a machine could never replicate.
Cross Embroidery
At the center of every printed diamond, a small cream cross is embroidered — four delicate stitches, perfectly aligned. The embroidery catches the light differently from the printed linen, so the pattern seems to shift as you move around the basket.
Navy Rim Binding
The top edge is finished with a navy binding — stitched tight, with a clean edge that frames the opening like the border of a painting. The binding is folded and stitched by hand, so each corner is crisp and uniform.
Leather Handles
Two supple brown leather handles are cut and finished, each secured to the basket sides with two solid brass rivets. The leather is full-grain cowhide — supple and strong, that will develop a rich patina from the oils of your hands.
Corner Reinforcement
The four bottom corners are reinforced with matching leather caps — also riveted in brass — protecting the linen from wear and giving the basket a structured, tailored silhouette. It is the same construction you would find on a high-end leather goods piece.
Assembly & Inspection
The panel is sewn into a square basket, the base is attached with reinforced stitching, and the finished basket is inspected. Diamonds must be evenly spaced. Embroidery must be flawless. Rivets must be secure. Only then does it leave the workshop.
European Linen.
Leather & Brass.
High-Density Weave · Hand Block Print · Cotton Floss Embroidery · Antique Brass
The linen is woven in Europe from long-staple flax fibers — the same grade used for high-end table linens and men's summer suiting. The weave is tight enough to hold a structured square shape, but retains the natural slub texture that makes linen feel alive. It softens with use, developing a richer patina over time, like a favorite shirt.
The navy diamonds are hand block-printed — each one pressed individually with a wooden block, so no two are exactly alike. The cream crosses are cotton floss embroidery — colorfast, fade-resistant, and soft to the touch. The brass is solid metal, polished to an antique glow that deepens with age. The leather is full-grain cowhide, supple and strong, that will develop a rich patina. Every material is chosen to age beautifully — to look better in five years than it does today.

Keep It Patterned
Linen, leather, and brass all age beautifully. Treat them well and this basket will look richer in five years than it does today — a piece that grows more beautiful with use.
Spot Clean
Damp cloth for linen stains. Do not machine wash — the hand block print and embroidery are delicate. Blot, do not rub.
Leather Care
Condition the leather handles and corner caps every few months with a small amount of leather conditioner. They will darken and soften with use — this is patina, not wear.
Brass Polish
The brass rivets will develop a warm patina over time. If you prefer a brighter shine, polish gently with a soft cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals near the linen or leather.
Embrace the Patina
Linen softens. Leather darkens. Brass warms. The hand block print will fade slightly with use, adding character. Every material in this basket is chosen to age beautifully.
Most baskets hold your things and look plain doing it.
This one does it with pattern and purpose.
Not every basket is hand-printed with diamonds
and finished in leather and brass.
